Christopher R. Tomaras, M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of neck and back and cranial disorders. He uses the latest in surgical technology and techniques to provide patients with high quality care. Dr. Tomaras is also trained to provide non-surgical treatment options as the first choice option for patients.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Tomaras received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After his undergraduate studies he received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis where he graduated with high honors. Dr. Tomaras then completed his internship in general surgery under Michael Debakey, M.D. and his residency in neurosurgery under Robert Grossman, M.D. at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Tomaras has been a part of the Polaris team since 1998. He was recognized by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in June 2001 when he became a board certified neurosurgeon. Dr. Tomaras presents and takes part in continuing medical education to build on his expert knowledge in spine surgery and neurosurgery.
He currently resides in Atlanta with his wife Elise who also is a physician, and their three children.
