Max Steuer, M.D. specializes in providing compassionate patient-centered care with the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques for treating spine and brain injuries and disorders. Dr. Steuer has consistently maintained high ratings for patient satisfaction and patient outcomes in comparison to others throughout the region and country.
A true Georgia native, Dr. Steuer grew up in Athens and graduated from Cedar Shoals High School before going on to Cambridge, Massachusetts to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree at Harvard College. After Harvard, he focused on surgery at one of the leading medical schools and training centers in the world, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He attended medical school, served his internship, and completed a neurosurgery residency before he and his wife decided to return to his home state in 1991.
Dr. Steuer joined Polaris Spine & Neurosurgery Center in 1991 and settled in Atlanta. In 1993 he earned his neurosurgery board certification by passing the American Board of Neurological Surgery exams. Dr. Steuer takes great pride in continuing to contribute to research on better surgical techniques in cervical disc replacement and other areas of neurosurgery.
Dr. Steuer and his wife Lisa enjoy raising their children and the Atlanta lifestyle. Hobbies include reading, canoeing and hiking.
